John....

So tonight I thought I'd post a little about my John and his personality quirks....

It is fitting right now as he has decided to wake up and cry for a bit....

Some random things about John include:

We tried to start solids (cereal, and such) on his 6 month birthday (day after Thanksgiving) and he just totally refuses....now this is not the 1st time we have tried (tried shortly before my surgery as well....), but each time we have tried he has screamed, squirmed, and refused. So we asked his doctor and they said this means he is getting enough from me right now and to try again in a few weeks. Huh? I thought that after 6 months my milk did not have enough iron in it....as well as some other nutrients....

He does not go to bed well and rarely naps....his naps tend to be what I call 20 minute non-naps...unless he is sick and then he naps superbly (especially when being held). If he is snuggled/rocked back to sleep and then put in his crib, he will wake up and cry....then he will most likely cry for a good 20 minutes or so while he tries to convince you that he needs to be held....he does not win, but it is frustrating. (At least his big brother is getting used to it now and is not awoken by his screaming brother.) Sometimes he cries less if ignored..sometimes not....

Though capable of sleeping through the night (started at 2 months old), he has not done this well since the flood....the past few nights we have been working on the fact that he does not need to nurse and can go back to sleep without that...he is doing okay so far....

Teething seems to bother him more than it did Ray (not saying much as it never bothered Ray at all)...but it seems to only bother him in the area of sleep...weird....

He is generally a happy boy....although I must say he requires quite a bit of attention...does not seem to entertain himself well at all yet....hopefully someday he will be able to play alone...for now, he loves to have Raymond entertain him....or mommy and daddy of course. :)

Well, he does not seem to be stopping the fussing right now, so I shall go and check on him. :)
