OK, so lately Ray has decided that he is only going to eat what he wants when he wants it....or something like that....here's what's going on....this mommy needs help...please....
1) At breakfast and dinner he is basically refusing to eat (unless it is the occasional absolute favorite, like mac and cheese, peanut butter crackers, or granola bars)
2) Lunch seems to be working fine still, though sometimes even this meal is an issue
3) I have tried: changing meal times (either earlier or later), no snacks between meals, not allowing other foods after dinner time should he refuse to eat dinner (except maybe a yogurt), the concept of eat what is given or go hungry, etc.
4) I have spoken to both my parents and they are stumped.....really hoping you all have some thoughts
5) Oh, when he skips dinner, he wakes up in the AM and goes straight to the fridge begging for yogurt, cheese, or granola bars (from the counter)
6) The foods I am serving are things that he either should like (based on his usual tastes) or has liked in the past
7) I will not cook a separate meal for him (my husband's family did stuff like this and it causes problems to this day), plus that just goes against all I believe as a mommy
8) Despite his beliefs, he cannot live, strive on his favs alone
So, anyway, that's what's going on....any help you have I would most likely be willing to try....I am stumped, and frustrated (he was never picky before)

It comes in phases. Most kids go through picky phases, but if you keep doing what you are doing- Feeding him what you have picked out only when he is hungry that is the best you can do. Don't worry he will come through it.
I agree with Wendy - its a phase. My middle child went thru a "white foods only" phase and refused to eat anything but rice, pasta, bread and the occasional (peeled) chicken nugget thrown in there. We waited it out and eventually he came around. He will not starve himself and will, at some point, give in and eat what he's served. Stick to your guns and "out-stubborn" your 2 year old! :)
Yep, its just a phase. Terribly frustrating, but a phase Both my kids go through them randomly and they haven't shriveled up yet. ;-) Just stick to your guns about no other food, we re-heat dinner plates or put sandwhiches in baggies for later. Just keep making what you usually do, or maybe try new stuff to see if he's just bored.
